New TES Slots for Current FY 2023 Budget

For the upcoming academic year 2023-2024, there’s great news for students seeking financial assistance. The new TES slots are now available and have been thoughtfully divided to benefit both students from public institutions (SUCs and LUCs) and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including PNSL. These slots are allocated based on a thorough assessment using the latest DSWD Listahanan data.

To accommodate more financially-challenged and deserving students for the TES subsidy and pursuant to Board Resolutions No. 028 and 029 and consistent with the proposal of COCOPEA, the 50% or the Php 430,016,179.17 of the total Php 860,032,358.35 available Continuing FY 2022 UAQTEA funds is allocated to open new TES slots of Academic Year 2022-2023 for students in private schools (excluding PNSL).

So, what exactly are the benefits awaiting eligible students?

Continuing TES grantees in public HEIs in 2nd Semester of AY 2022-2023 shall receive the same amount of Php40,000.00 per academic year or Php20,000.00 per semester, until they graduate. Maximum Residency Rule (MRR) shall strictly apply.

Continuing TES grantees in private HEIs, including PNSL, shall receive the same amount of subsidy, specifically, Php60,000.00 per academic year or Php30,000.00 per semester, until they graduate. Maximum Residency Rule (MRR) shall strictly apply.

Continuing PWD TES grantees in both public and private HEIs in AY 2022-2023 shall receive the same amount of additional subsidy, specifically, Php30,000.00 per academic year or Php15,000.00 per semester, until they graduate.

For both private and public HEls, qualified TES graduates in AY 2022-2023 onwards, in courses requiring licensure examinations – shall receive a maximum one-time reimbursement of Php 8,000.00 to cover the full or partial cost of taking the said licensure examinations.

  1. Certificate of Enrollment: Ensure you have an up-to-date certificate of enrollment.
  2. PWD ID (If Applicable): If you qualify as a Person with Disability (PWD), make sure you have a valid PWD ID.
