Grants under the Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Filipinos are for a maximum of one academic year for non-degree, one to two years for master’s, and two years for doctoral degree studies. The grant provides for round-trip international travel, monthly maintenance allowance, tuition and fees, book/supplies allowance, and health and accident insurance.

2. Fulbright: Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers

The Fulbright Philippines Scholarships: Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers (Fulbright DAI) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and implemented by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. In the Philippines, Fulbright DAI is administered by the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (Fulbright Philippines).

The Fulbright DAI program, which replaces the International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP), provides teachers with a unique opportunity to develop greater expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, increase their knowledge about the United States, and complete an individual or group project. The program will take place from August 2025 and conclude in December 2025.

Fulbright DAI is a semester-long non-degree, non-credit, professional development program at a U.S. university. Participants will audit courses in the host university’s School or Department of Education and thus will be part of the general university community. The program will include opportunities to observe and co-teach with U.S. teachers in a U.S. school near the host university, in order to actively engage participants in the U.S. classroom environment. Cultural enrichment, mentoring, and support will be provided throughout the program.

3. Fulbright: Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

Established in honor of the late U.S. Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, the Humphrey Program provides a year of professional enrichment in the United States for experienced Filipino professionals. The program develops leaders who will have “multiplier effect” on their society.

The Fulbright Philippines Scholarships: Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides ten months of non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the United States. Humphrey Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public or the private sector. The Humphrey Program fosters a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the United States and the Fellows’ home countries.

The Program offers Fellows valuable opportunities for leadership development and professional engagement with Americans and their counterparts from many nations. More than 5,600 men and women have been honored as Humphrey Fellows since the program began in 1978. Approximately 200 Fellowships are awarded annually. Thirteen major universities in the United States host Humphrey Fellows. These host universities are chosen for their excellence in the Program’s designated fields of study and for the resources and support they offer Humphrey Fellows.

4. Fulbright: National Archives Heritage Science Fellowship

The Fulbright Philippines Scholarships: National Archives Heritage Science Fellowship, a component of the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program, provides an opportunity for Fulbright visiting scholars to connect with National Archives scientists and experts while conducting research at the National Archives’ state-of-the-art Heritage Science Research and Testing Lab in College Park, Maryland. This Fellowship is made possible through a partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the National Archives and Records Administration. The award was established to support archival science education, conservation, and research.

The selected Fellow will work in the Heritage Science Research and Testing Laboratory of the National Archives, a state of the art facility focused on scientific research to assist in the conservation, preservation, and ongoing public accessibility of cultural and historic artifacts, records, and documents.

5. Fulbright: Advanced Research & University Lecturing Program

The Fulbright Philippines Scholarships: Advanced Research and University Lecturing Program, also called the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program, is a scholarship for researchers and professors for the implementation of their own research projects at American universities, non-profit research institutes and some government institutions. Scholarship holders, in addition to the implementation of the research project, can also teach courses. Grants are awarded for a period of three to five months.

These awards cover travel, tuition, stipend, books, and professional activities, and health and accident insurance. All fields are eligible except medicine and nursing.
